Dear friends,
In this year, which has been so hard for all of us, I want my best wishes to reach you in your daily life, where your loved ones, your families and your friends are.
Christmas reminds us that the Lord is also present, and above all, where there is sadness and suffering. And how much sadness and suffering we have witnessed in recent months due to the Covid-19 pandemic!
The profound meaning of Christmas - what we really celebrate during this feast - is the love of the Lord, His constant availability: the Lord is always faithful, even when we fail to perceive Him and are distracted by the fatigue of our life. The Lord does not forget us, He does not leave us, He is present. Every year, Christmas reminds us of His being with us. Jesus who comes presents His face to us, the face of the Lord who loves us, who seeks us, who comes to meet us and takes charge of our difficulties.
Last spring, our association closed its doors like everyone else during the lockdown, but we continued to help people in need, even in our territory. I am confident that, with your always generous help, we will still be able to help not only our fellow citizens in this difficult moment, but also continue to stand by the side of the children of the Cité des Jeunes Nazareth, who are always in our hearts.
In his latest encyclical "All Brothers", Pope Francis reminds us that "good, as well as love, justice and solidarity, are not achieved once and for all; they must be conquered every day. ".
On my behalf, the members of the Executive Board and the Nolite Timere volunteers, I wish you a Holy Christmas and a New Year 2021 that will free us from the pandemic and restore serenity in our hearts!
